I'm Back
I haven't posted in a little over two months. I fully regret the decision to stop blogging. The Daily Times gave me a great opportunity and I sadly neglected it. I am on vacation right now but when I get back I'll post. It will be from an interview that I had a month ago. I'll be posting for now on atleast twice a week.

Growing up
Most high schoolers want to graduate and go on to become an adult. Not knowing the responsibilities old age brings on a person. Some just want the freedom without the stress. Some just want to be older so they can legally drink. Some just want to College and live their life because they hate high school, and they think college is better.
Teens don't understand the older you get, the more responsibilities, which causes more stress. Teens believe that is more fun being all grown up. I've always said "I can't wait to be older and go to college." Now that I'm almost in my senior year, I have been thinking about graduating and going off to college. I am very excited, but nervous. I can't help thinking about how fast high school went and it is scary because I don't want my whole life to go that fast.
Even though I know all this, I still can't wait to graduate and go off to college.

Finals

Ahh Spring it brings a smile to many. After the fierce white winter we have had we deserve some nice sunshine. Spring also brings the end of the school year which is also very exciting. Sadly the end of the school year brings one more thing, finals. Finals are the most stressful thing of the whole school year. Mid-terms aren't as bad because you are more on the ball because it is still the first half of the school year. For finals your are so laid back, it is the end of the year you, and you just want summer to begin. For some people it is even more nerve-racking because if they don't pass the final, they don't pass the class, then they have to go to summer school. I just don't understand the point of finals, we already tested on the material once. Why would they make us test on it again? Teachers say we take them so we don't forget the material, but if we forgot it once, we will most likely forget it another time.

Teen Pregnancy

Three in ten teenage girls become pregnant at least once before they reach the age of 20. That is more than 750,000 teen pregnancies a year. Teen pregnancy is a major issue in America. Girls may use it to trap men into relationships, they may think they want a baby, or it could be by accident. Instead of talking to a pregnant teen, I talked to a post pregnant teen. Kelly, 32 now became pregnant at the age of 15 and had the baby at 16. "When I found out I was pregnant I was happy, but scared and I never thought of adoption or abortion." Kelly said "I was very scared to tell my mom and worried if my boyfriend would stay with me." Kelly wanted a baby after she baby sated her older sister's son, Stephen. "I was no longer concerned with my own needs. I Only cared about my son's." Kelly explained. Then Kelly said something that surprised me, "If I could go back in time, I wouldn't change a thing" After all the stress she went through and single parenting she still is happy today. Kelly's boyfriend was in and out of her and her son's life for the first couple of years after she had the baby. She eventually married him and they had another baby, a girl. Unfortunately, they eventually separated. Now she is happy with a boyfriend and bound to get married. Everything worked out for her in the long run.
Having a baby when you are an adult brings you through hardships, being a teen with a baby is even worse. 55% of teen boys and 70% of teen girls wish they have waited longer to have sex. Many teens who have babies are forced to move out from their parents home. Which makes it even harder on the young and nieve parents to survive. With a baby, a teen will most likely not be able to go to college. With out a college degree their annual salary will be much lower, which causes it a lot harder to make it by and even worse in today's economy. Having a baby when you are a teen causes the baby to have a higher risk to become unhealthy. They could be born prematurely, low birth weight, and other problems that may cause death. Teen pregnancy will most likely never stop, but we could try.
